I’m sure you’ve been tuned into all the chat on social and traditional media, but just in case, here are some useful links to find out more:
- Claire Bradley has a really useful post on searching the census. Subscribe for free here.
- Family Tree Magazine have a free page plus links to other posts on Irish genealogy here. They are also advertising Claire Bradley’s webinar on the 27th May. They also report that in the May and June issues of Family Tree, Frances Daly (a member of the IFHS) has written articles on life in Ireland at the time and has investigated the Irish census statistical reports to understand a broader picture of the population.
- RTE (the Irish national broadcaster) have a page chock full of information on the 1926 census and life in Ireland at the time here.
- Statistical information from the 1926 census in Northern Ireland can be viewed from NISRA here. Note that unfortunately the household returns appear to have been pulped during WWII.
