A lecture by Dr. Sarah Hendriks, curator of the Royal Irish Academy Library’s current exhibition, on the various approaches to collecting Irish historical manuscripts over the last 700 years.
Organised in collaboration with the Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland (VRTI) Library Network, the talk will review the themes of the Collecting Ireland’s History exhibition and explore the relationship between private and institutional collecting to explain how both efforts are being utilized to reconstruct the Public Record Office of Ireland’s archive, destroyed on 30 June 1922.
