NEW BOOK –  THE BIG HOUSES IN KERRY – HISTORY AND LEGACY

A new publication is imminent on the subject of Big Houses in County Kerry. The book will include chapters written by twelve of Kerry’s foremost historians on eighteen Kerry Big Houses and their families. This study will mark the first time the legacy of the landed gentry in Kerry will be examined in depth.

The book will be a coffee-table type, lavishly illustrated with historical images, and will run to over three hundred and fifty pages.

Contributors will include Dr. John Knightly, Bryan MacMahon, Donald Cameron, Dr. Patricia O’Hare, Tom Denny, Tom Dillon, Kay Caball, Jane O’Keefe, Victoria McCarthy, Karol O’Mahony, Dick Spring, and Dr. Declan Downey.
 A must-read for all historians so look out for it.

It will be launched in November.
