The Centre for the Study of Historic Irish Houses and Estates are delighted to announce this year’s fourth annual seminar, hosted in conjunction with The Heritage Council, Visual and Material Culture and the Irish Country House.
This year’s seminar will explore the collections that made up much of the fabric of Ireland’s country houses including art, furniture, photographs, libraries and curiosities. Speakers will examine these collections and use them to ascertain insight into what they can tell us of the people that collected, curated, collated and used them.
