UCC Launching the Great Famine Online

University College Cork (UCC) hosted the National Famine Commemoration on the 12 May 2018 attended by President Higgins and hosted by An Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simon Coveney.  Part of this commemoration included the launch of the Great Famine Online Project.  This consists of interactive maps to show how the famine affected people in local areas, down to civil parish and town level.  Users will be able to glean information about population, families and housing, education and occupation before and after the Great Famine.
