Connecting People With Their Irish Roots

Upcoming NIFHS Course

Writing Family Memories That Engage and Inspire the Next Generation

Co-ordinator/Facilitator: Audrey McKeown, Editor of North Irish Roots Journal

Start Date: Thursdays starting on 29th January until June.  Time to be arranged.

Focus: Are you interested in bringing your family history to life? This group (cohort 2) explores creative ways to engage younger generations through story-based writing. Across six monthly sessions, we’ll look at how to move beyond lists of names and dates, experiment with a project-based approach  and begin shaping a real family story.

Rather than tackling a full family history, at this stage, the focus will be on  developing a Character Study—a focused, narrative portrait of a chosen ancestor. This is a practical ‘hands-on’ course delivered via zoom.

If you are interested in joining, please email NRoots@nifhs.org by 12 January.
