Connecting People With Their Irish Roots

The Royal Irish Academy Library is delighted to announce the newly updated Irish History Online (IHO) website.

The IHO was established in 2003 with the aim to provide a free online bibliographic catalogue focused on the broad area of the history of Ireland. The IHO provides listings of books and articles dealing with Irish history of any period from early historic times to the present. It is a guide to the work of historians rather than to original sources, unless they have been edited and republished by historians. The catalogue is not an exhaustive list of every known publication relating to Irish history. However, we will continuously strive to make it accurate, up to date and an essential resource for the study of Irish history at any level.

With the launch of this newly updated IHO website, we hope to reach an even wider audience of researchers and volunteers through a more accessible and searchable interface. To help us do so, please forward this email to any interested parties you may know.

If you have any queries or questions about how to use our updated IHO website, or would like to become a volunteer compiler please feel free to email iho@ria.ie
