Accredited Genealogists Ireland (AGI) has published a new resource sheet, Birth Registration in Ireland, the second in our series about civil registration in Ireland offering researchers and family historians an insight into one of the most important sources for Irish genealogical research.
The guide explains the information gathered on the registration of a birth and tackles some of the pitfalls facing researchers, explaining why a date of birth might be inaccurately recorded or a variant name or name in Irish might be employed.
